About the role:
Our team at the Lytton Refinery is expanding and we are looking for experienced professionals who have worked in hydrocarbon and/or major hazard environments to join us. We offer great opportunities for individuals who are seeking a change in career direction. Successful applicants will undergo training as part of the onboarding induction program for a duration of five weeks and based on site. The role requires general surveillance, monitoring, and operation of refinery equipment. You will be working on a 12-hour rotating roster, which includes both day and night shifts. The refinery operates 24/7, so you need to be flexible with your work schedule.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Safely controlling and monitoring equipment
- Monitoring and controlling of work to ensure safety is maintained.
- Issues work permits to maintenance for equipment repairs and alteration
- Reporting and monitoring of hazards
- Emergency and Front-Line Fire Response
- Using gas testing equipment to identify adverse conditions
- Assisting in plant modification proposals
- Performing start-up or shut-down activities
- Carrying out product sampling and lab testing
- Helping others with training
- Utilizing the SAP maintenance systems and associated computer programs
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A minimum of five years of experience working in a major hazardous facility
- Operations experience is a similar environment and/or large processing facility
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A safety-focused approach
- Computer literacy and experience in SAP is preferred.
- The ability to work on a rotating roster
- The ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
