Echuca Regional Health (ERH) is offering an exciting NEW accredited paediatric position to one lucky Paediatric Advanced Trainee Registrar in a developing Paediatric service

Picture this;

  • You work day shift Monday - Friday
  • On call 1 night per week and 1 in 4 weekends
  • Optional full or part time hours
  • Active participation in defining and developing a new Paediatric service in an evolving Health service
  • Attend weekly education provided by Royal Children’s Hospital
  • Outpatient consultation in the Njernda Aboriginal Medical Centre

Echuca is a boutique tourist town located on the Murray River and whilst it is famous for its history and paddle steamers, don’t let that fool you! Echuca is one of the most visited tourists destinations for young people and families alike. Boasting high quality and diverse restaurants, bars and clubs, distilleries and wineries, as well as annual events including River Boats Music festival, Pop and Pour festival, Southern80 Boat Race and much, much more.

ERH is a world class sub-regional hospital which services a catchment population of approximately 45,000. Amidst other services we provide acute and ongoing care of both women and children with approximately 450 births per year. ERH is Echuca’s largest employer withy approx 800 staff.

Paediatrics is a developing inpatient service with well established outpatient clinics. Paediatrics take inpatient referrals and also provide a rapid review outpatient service closely linked with the Emergency department. The outpatient service is run in consultation with the allied health team, consisting of Speech / OT/ Dietetics etc. The service offers comprehensive, specialist assessment and management for a range of conditions including neonatology, developmental and general paediatric medicine. This role meets rural requirements for advanced training and gives the candidate an opportunity to experience regional paediatrics, including outreach clinics at Njernda to work with the local indigenous community.
