Job Description

  • We are seeking an experienced and results-driven individual to join our team as a Production Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the production operations within our metal recycling facility. Your primary objective will be to ensure the efficient processing of metal materials, meeting production targets, optimizing workflow, and maintaining high-quality standards. This position is critical in driving the success and growth of our facility.

    What you're responsible for:

  • Production Planning: Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet customer demands and optimize resource utilization.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate production processes, identifying areas for improvement, efficiency gains, and waste reduction. Implement measures to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Equipment Management: Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure equipment and machinery are properly maintained, repaired, and calibrated for optimal performance.
  • Quality Control: Establish and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the integrity and purity of metal materials. Implement measures to minimize rejects and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety audits and address any potential hazards or concerns promptly.
  • Environmental Compliance: Implementation and control of legal and licensing requirements (BImSchG, waste legislation and occupational safety) as well as monitoring of their compliance
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor production staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Foster a positive and productive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional development.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control, including accurate tracking and documentation of incoming and outgoing materials. Implement inventory control measures to minimize discrepancies and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Production Reporting: Prepare and analyze production reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs), production yields, and efficiency metrics. Identify trends and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement, logistics, and quality assurance, to ensure smooth operations and address any interdepartmental issues or dependencies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging employee engagement, innovation, and the implementation of best practices. Regularly seek opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in process engineering, manufacturing, operations management, or a related field. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
  • Proven experience in a production management role within the metal recycling, manufacturing, or related industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of metal recycling processes, equipment, and industry standards is desirable...
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Solid understanding of quality control principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations and compliance requirements in an industrial environment.
  • Proficient in using production management software and tools for planning, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
