Our finance department, in Braine l'Alleud, is looking for an enthusiastic
CREDIT CONTROL OFFICER
The overall purpose of the job is to guarantee a minimal level of financial risk of non-payment, by limiting the overdue amounts with timely and effective cash collection actions, according to internal guidelines. Thereby a favorable financial position in terms of cash flow and working capital is maintained.

Your tasks and responsibilities
1. Cash Management
- Timely and effective collection of overdue invoices (mainly phone calls)
- Resolving queries both internally and externally around outstanding invoices
- Close cooperation and communication with Sales departments to recover the debts efficiently
- Negotiate payment plans according to internal guidelines
- Handle incoming customer calls
- Contact customers to clarify unclear payments
- Handle outgoing reminders
- Prepare files for lawyer
- Support Head of Credit Management during credit meetings
- Check, handle and release of blocked sales orders if appropriate
- Follow up of booking of bank statements
2. Risk Management
- Perform credit analysis: solvency analysis, balance sheet and P&L analysis
- Set up payment conditions accordingly, according to internal guidelines
3. Disputes
- Improve monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings by following up on and clearing of disputes.
4. Assist pro-actively Head of CM in providing possible process improvements and identify, where needed, possible internal controls and reporting.
We are looking for the following profile:
- You have a bachelor degree in Accounting or relevant experience in Accounts Receivables, Credit Management or commercial environment;
- You have strong communication skills and ability to establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the management;
- You are accurate, efficient and organized with the ability to prioritize tasks;
- You have good negotiation and sound decision-making skills;
- You are calm and have a confident manner to handle potential uncomfortable conversations;
- You are able to work under pressure and handle deadlines;
- You are dynamic and result driven;
- You have experience in SAP;
- You have a very good knowledge of Dutch and French. Knowledge of English is an asset.
