Advanced Product business unit is providing a broad range of specialty polyolefins which allows us to be leader in markets such as Healthcare, Appliances, Oil&Gas and polymer modifiers. Our growth strategy is around sustainability, therefore to strengthen our advanced product sales team, we are now looking for a person to join our talented team to support the business growth. You will report to the Head of Sales EMEA Advanced Products.
You will…
- be responsible for your own sales strategy, forecast and targets (volume, price, segment and profit) in alignment with our industry cluster strategy
- be selling our products and services based on defined value propositions and customer interaction models, driving volume growth at optimized margins
- be managing your contracts and take care on the negotiations
- collaborate closely with our Application Development Engineers, Marketing and Customer Service departments
- collect regional market information in the value chain to build intelligence and communicate to relevant internal stakeholders
- serve in various interesting markets, as Healthcare, Appliances, Oil&Gas and polymer modifiers
- be selling and developing project linked to our circular economy solutions (Borcycle, Bornewables)
- be expected to travel around 50%
- deal with customer plans and action tracking
- do customer acquisition; managing customer relationships, leading customer negotiations, sales execution
- use defined sales tools to articulate, communicate and deliver upon defined sales strategies
- acquire and develop new customers in priority segments
- proactively address structurally unprofitable business; continuously optimize customer profitability by active price management, using available tools
About you
We are looking for someone who has experience in chemical or plastics industry. You should possess financial literacy and strong commercial awareness.
You have a solid business or sales experience in a polyolefin/polymer/chemical environment. Any background from the Healthcare/Appliances/O&G/Polymer modifier or concentrate markets is a bonus.
You are a strategic and pro-active thinker with high integrity, who is always eager to understand their customers on all levels - e.g. the value chain, their strategies, used technologies etc. - and you are able to connect those insights with the value of Borealis products and services. Your great communication and networking skills are part of your winning strategy.
- Ideally Technical Bachelor degree or equivalent
- 8+ years relevant working experience in sales/commercial role
- Advance proficiency in German and English
- Customer centric approach to capture new business growth opportunities
- Ideally, knowledge of polyolefins products, production technology and processes
- Ideally, knowledge of application processing technologies at customers side
- Understanding of application value proposition and strategy
- Insight into customer strategy (product portfolio/pipeline, segments, value chain)
- Insight into of customers' financial performance
- Understanding of short term market dynamics
- Understanding of value chain (e.g., players, dynamics, decision making)
- Ability to prospect and acquire new customers
- Agility to use short windows of opportunity, orientation to close deals
- Ability to develop innovative and/or customized solutions
- Ability to sell standard products
- Contract management skills (e.g., supply, non-disclosing, bonus agreements)
- Ability to prospect and acquire new customers
- Negotiation skills
- You have used modern CRM tools (Salesforce, SAP)in the past and you are familiar with Excel, Power Point and MS Teams

Following Austrian law regulations, we offer, reflecting your experiences, skills and competencies, competitive compensation based on the collective labour agreement chemical industry starting at EUR 85,000 annual gross salary (based on 38 hrs/week) and are willing to pay more based on your experience and background. The individual grade for the employee, salary and fringe benefit package (might deviate) and will reflect your profile, experience and the specifics of the country/location you apply for.
