This is the role
You will collaborate closely with third-party advanced recycling and hydrotreatment partners, playing a pivotal role in various aspects of project development, design, and the future operation of these assets. You will foster innovation and promote sustainable practices within our organization. This encompasses spearheading the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) measures, initiatives to enhance reliability and quality, and the undertaking of projects aimed at overcoming operational bottlenecks and facilitating organic growth for Advanced Recycling plants. In close collaboration with the management of the C&LCS production unit or the production unit organization of joint ventures, you will provide technical expertise to enhance the functioning of the plant or site. Your involvement may extend to devising modifications to plant systems and executing projects, including active participation in production trials and the development of new products.
You will be responsible for conceptualizing and formulating the scope of identified enhancement and replacement projects. Ensure that these projects are carried out with a strong focus on safety, adhering to specified timelines and budget constraints, while also aligning with relevant internal (HSE) standards, legal requirements, and permits. Additionally, provide assistance in the progression and implementation of projects following the structured 5-stage Gate Project Management Process (Gate PMP).
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, plan, and implement pilot projects and full-scale advanced recycling facilities;
- Utilize your knowledge of naphtha cracker operations to understand feedstock requirements and optimize recycling processes accordingly;
- Conduct process simulations and modeling to evaluate the efficiency and performance of chemical recycling systems;
- Lead laboratory testing and experimentation to assess the compatibility and effectiveness of different feedstocks in recycling processes;
- Provide technical expertise and support to project teams during all stages of project development, from concept to commissioning;
- Provide technical support to the production units to solve problems and continually improve the efficiency, quality and reliability of the process;
- Assist in the training and development of production staff;
- Provide support in developing and reviewing predictive and preventive maintenance strategies combined with spare parts strategies for the different operations organizations;
- First point of contact for engineering and equipment suppliers in assigned projects;
- Support due diligence activities as and when requested;
- Provide support to partnership / joint venture operations as and when requested.

This is what you bring
- Minimum B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent;
- 10+ years’ in the refining, petrochemical, chemical or advanced recycling process, industries is preferred with significant (Capital) project development experience;
- Familiarity with the basics of naphtha cracker operations and an understanding of feedstock requirements for petrochemical processes;
- Experience in working with/through EPC(m) contractors for development and execution of projects;
- Fluency in English, additional language is preferred.
