Your day-to-day

  • Report to work punctually ten minutes prior to start time on the roster, dressed in appropriate uniform and with impeccable grooming which complies with the Hotel’s policy and procedures.
  • During service, maintain cleanliness and appearance of immediate work area, including tables, stations, bar area, back-of-house preparation areas etc. Maintain standard of cleanliness of all items of operating equipment within these areas.
  • Be familiar with food and beverage item par stocks, requisitioning procedures and transfers. Rotate perishable stock of food and beverage items on a ‘first-in first-out’ basis ensuring they are stored securely in the correct location.
  • Perform department/outlet opening or closing duties as required. Ensure that wait staff stations are clean and maintained throughout shift.
  • Attend briefings and training sessions.
  • Assist colleagues as required.
  • Maintain a cost conscious attitude at all times, advise supervisor of any damage, spillage or breakage. Assist in periodic stocktakes of food, beverage, equipment and/or linen as required. Be familiar with linen item par stocks and replenishment procedures.

What we need from you:

  • Commercial Cookery qualification, and previous experience in a la carte service
  • The strength to lift, push and pull big objects up to 23 kg which can also involve bending and kneeling
  • A good grasp of reading, writing and basic maths
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • A working knowledge and understanding of HACCP procedures
  • Great communication – you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to
