Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role
The Advisor, Change and Implementation supports the planning and implementation of change across the local takiwā Integrated Service teams, working with the National Change Management & Implementation team in Te Pae Aronui to ensure sector changes to delivery are anticipated, well planned and supported to success delivery.
The Change and Implementation Advisor will also support the development of change and implementation capability across regional teams to drive a more connected approach and holistic view across all stages of the education system
Salary range: $71,859 - $86,939 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

To be successful in this role you will have the following capabilities and competencies:

• A track record of bringing people together and leading, coaching and mentoring others to achieve outcomes.
• A proven ability to use data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities, to influence and guide organisational and system-level decision making.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
• Able to write with clarity
• Knowledge of planning, risk management and performance management
• An understanding of Machinery of Government, public sector delivery structures and systems
• An understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and its implications for the work of the Ministry

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
Mātau rōpū ake | About our ministry, group, and team
At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whanau. To better deliver on this, we are currently undergoing an organisational design change. The transition phase to improve the way we deliver our purpose will be complete in 2023.

Te pūtake me te kawenga | Our purpose and role
Te Mahau | Te Tai Whenua (Central) is a frontline group. Our frontline groups collectively provide leadership and integrated services to the sector and others. This includes services, such as learning support and education advice and regulation functions for schools and early learning services. As a frontline group we develop and harness existing relationships with communities at the regional and local level through the Directors of Education, including deep relationships with iwi and hapū. Our Directors of Education have the lead role and relationship with early learning, kōhanga, school and kura, and this means they will be across all the services we provide at a local level.
