What's the role?
The BU Materials Manager (BU MM) orchestrates the end-to-end supply chain from the Hilti plant or External supplier to the Global Spare Parts Distribution Centers of Hilti across the globe. The BU MM is responsible for global product availability in balance with global inventory and logistical costs in line with the strategy of Global Logistics and the Business Unit Power Tools & Accessories (PT&A).

What does the role involve?
- Steer the supply chain through ordering, planning and the distribution set up, ensuring product availability at the lowest possible costs and capital.
- Close cooperation with global spare parts distribution center
- Operational buying process (Purchase ordering) and managing the executional process with our Suppliers.
- Serve as business partner for Business Unit & global spare parts distribution center to ensure optimal global inventories and service levels.
- Determine and maintain a stock plan and delivery strategy (safety stocks, order quantities, delivery setup) for our global spare parts distribution center, including static capacity planning.
- Work with global tool services stakeholders, calculate all-time demand, and manage economic order quantities in order to manage and reduce long term overstock risk
- Utilize established reports to review critical supply constraints, backorder handling and service levels and secure a proper improvement plan.
- Provide relevant information proactively to Supply Management team and other Business Unit stakeholders to highlight long horizon risks in parts availability
- Collaborate with Process Experts to develop, test and implement new supply chain and materials management procedures with the objective of continue improvement of our process.
- Collaborate, contribute and manage spare parts items during the end of life product cycle, including master data creation, demand planning and phase out planning.
- Prepare and support stop of serial production activities
- Collaborate with Business Unit MM, Production Plants, Spare Parts distribution center, and Engineering, and Procurement teams to secure the best possible parts availability after stop of serial production.
- Provide all time demand figures in case of last time buy scenarios
- Prepare repair stops and coordinate tasks with all relevant stakeholders

What you need is:
- Degree in Engineering or Business Administration (Bachelor or Master) or broad proven experience in logistics or supply chain.
- Detail orientation with the ability to interpret and manage large amounts of data.
- In-depth or advanced understanding of ERP and Planning systems, especially with SAP/APO ) is required.
- Strong process and system know-how in multiple Supply Chain processes including Sales and Operations Planning.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills in English.
- German is recommended, and other languages are a plus.
- An analytical mindset and skills (data gathering, structuring and analysis) with a professional proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel).
- Experience in project management and continuous improvement (e.g. Lean) is a plus.
- A strong motivated personality with the attitude and drive to inspire others.
