As a Technical Service Representative, you will provide technical support and assistance, maintain records of the actual conditions and application standards witnessed on site. You will also report on Sigma Coatings / Amercoat products and systems in compliance with standards and recommended procedures to ensure PPG PMC protected against claims and complaints, whilst enhancing the customer satisfaction. You will report to Field Technical Service Manager Protective & Marine Coatings, based in Singapore.
Main Responsibilities
Comply to guidelines as provided by the Field Technical Service Department
Maintain accurate and detailed records of the project(s) and have the information correctly transferred to the right standard reporting forms in time to ensure that PPG interests are protected.
Attend the assigned projects and conduct job. Identify deviation from standards and immediately inform the responsible Field Technical Service Manager providing all relevant information.
Give technical assistance to all parties involved on site (i.e. yard, contractor / sub-contractor, and any other user of our products) in respect to our products.
Upkeep updates on the Sigma Coatings / Amercoat products and procedures and use this to the benefit of PPG PMC. Convey any relevant information to Country Field Technical Service Manager or Global Field Technical Service Manager (Global FTS Office).
Aware of the content of the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and be familiar with the local safety rules and regulations and follow them.
Handle complaints carefully and in such a way that your actions and verbal or written reports / comments do not result in a commitment or assumption of responsibility that is outside of your authorities, which could result in PPG PMC being held liable. Report complaint (potential claim) immediately to Field Technical Service Manager
Qualifications
High school / Polytechnic School / Ships-officer or seaman qualification or similar
Experience in Marine / Yard or Contractor experience with a coating background
Knowledge inWord/Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets) and communication tool of email and teams
Experience collaborating with different partners to get information or relevant documentation quickly, through communication both verbal and written.
