Job Description
The veterinary sales representative (VSR) is responsible for establishing and maintaining professional relationships with our business partners – veterinary doctors, farmers and distributors – with the objective to support and grow the business of our partners and delivering our Company sales objectives.
The VSR provides to our partners expert support (diseases, prevention and treatment) as well as support in other business areas necessary for successful cooperation with respect to compliance.
Sales Target
Achieves or exceeds sales objectives in the assigned territory.
Builds or maintains business relationships with targeted customers and ensures customer satisfaction, trust & loyalty to selected company products to meet sales objectives
Manages company resources in an efficient way
Customer Management
Manages interactions with targeted customers (during business hours and/or at scientific meetings) that are meaningful, up to date, scientifically valuable and relevant to each individual customer (customized/tailored) based upon an understanding of their needs.
Drives customer satisfaction and loyalty to company products
Engages in a long-term professional relationship with customers in order to be considered as the reliable reference in the therapeutic domain
Manages documents end-user commercial actions including fulfillment of documents, calculation of rebates, discounts, paybacks and submits them for approval
Keep close working relationships with representatives of wholesalers in the field and interact if necessary with them for handling properly end-user customer requests, complaints
Communicate the right scientific messages consistent to the marketing strategy
Territory Management
Analyzes and prioritizes business needs and opportunities in the target customer groups (farms, integrations) and for the individual customers
Uses effectively captured pre- and post-call information, market research data as well as own targeting experience to draft action plans per target customer groups and individual customers
Uses effectively CRM and other tools, market research data as well as own targeting experience to develop territory action and call plans per target customer group and individual customer
Administrative Tasks
Timely performs administrative tasks such as encoding call activities and post-meeting notes in the CRM system, expense reports, adverse event reports, etc.
Analyzes monthly sales results for montioring sales performance and checks activity data on a monthly basis for identifying gaps vs. target and adjusts activities accordingly
Is accountable for company assets and resources assigned and manages their utilization on the best way for the interest of the company (car, mobile phone, PC, promo budget, etc.)
Teamwork
Provides relevant and timely feedback to management on local market environment, competitive and own activities.
Maintains close collaboration with the manager on strategic and tactical aspects of the product and the therapeutic domain based on expertise and field intelligence
Maintains high level of professional competence by continuously updating knowledge in the relevant areas (medical, communication, company policies and standards) by attending the respective training opportunities and sharing best practices/examples with others
Can be involved in additional assignments or activities on a need basis determined by the management. Examples include testing new promo materials, sampling, market research, etc.
Compliance
Ensures that all activities are in line with compliance, our code of conduct and company’s policies.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree or any relevant experience
Skills Required:
Minimum of 2 years field sales experience.
Field sales experience within the Animal Health industry or related industry is considered a plus
Demonstrated motivation and focus on achieving measurable, tangible result
Competent use of MS-Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and in IT technology in general
Excellent communication skills
Medium level of English language (must understand and express him/herself verbally and in written)
Willingness to keep learning
A team player, but also able to work autonomously in the field
Ability to travel in the region
